Christmas Man

I went to a recording of the Best of Peter Serafinowicz Christmas Special tonight, and it was a bit odd. I got dragged all the way across the city just to be entertained for an hour.

This was the first time I've been to a TV recording where the only recording going on was of the audience. As it turned out, we were recording the laugh track for the "Best of" Christmas Special, though this wasn't clear until we arrived. Suspiscions were raised, however, when I found out that the recording was at the Coronet Cinema in Notting Hill Gate rather than Television Centre, where all the other recordings have been.

Regardless, it was really funny. I did quite enjoy his show when it was on last year, and this wheat-from-the-chaff special was fantastic, really funny all the way through. And the Coronet was a great venue in that it is not only beautiful in that old time picture house way, but also has an open bar, which is helpful when recording the laugh track.

The original show didn't have a laugh track. But now, for Christmas, some of it does. What could be a better gift to the world?
